Friday Fun Run: A Journey of 1,000 Steps Starts AFTER the Bronchitis is Gone!

So I've found this great web site that all the runner/bloggers use to track their miles!  My, how I love a good widget!  I've been tossing around the idea of training for a half-marathon for quite awhile, and on Sunday I finally made a decisive, "What the heck! I can do this!"
So I'm gung-ho, ready to get out and start working the beginner's training plan I found on the internet -- only I'm still fighting this bronchitis I've had for about a month.  My doctor put me on a 12-day steroid regimen to hopefully clear up the rest of it, but until I stop barking my head off it seems my cute little counter below is doomed to remain at zero.  [Insert sad face here]

I'm so ready to get back out there! I've even dreamed about running this past week, although I must admit that in the dream (as is expected) my run was much easier than the reality of my huffin' and puffin' through the streets in my neighborhood.  But still....  I finally start flirting with the fact that running and I might have a real chance -- something I've hoped would happen for the past year -- and it seems that being forbidden works in much the same way it did in high school.  I can't stop thinking about running, I daydream about how it will feel to finally be back out there, breathing heavy, lungs on fire, and feeling so... ALIVE.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder, eh?

So we'll see if this is the real thing, or if I'm just suffering from runner's tease.  I've set up Fridays to be my long running day, and I fully expect next week's Friday Fun Run post to showcase some numbers down there!
