The AP Stylebook's Rule for Use of Ellipsis

This is what I've been learning since my last post ... three days before Christmas.

The ellipsis, according to the AP Stylebook, is treated as a separate word. Space. Dot dot dot. Space.

Sigh ...

I can't describe how disappointed I am about my lack of posts during this last semester, because being busy isn't an excuse. It's my blog. I'm not required to write it, so the only person I hurt is myself. Writing is my therapy. I've written about writing being my outlet, my release. So technically, I've blown off five months of therapy. Geez. You, as my readers, should've staged an intervention.

But I've so many stories to tell. Let's just say, Emily's been educated in so many ways these past few months. Lessons learned about when to choose career and when to choose family. More lessons about grief, but the kind that comes, not from death, but from someone leaving your life voluntarily. There's good stuff, too. Designing my first news pages and realizing that I adore design. Discovering that I hate editing.

And other, less boring stuff, as well ...

Like the ellipsis ...

I can't wait to share it all with you.

I wondered where you'd been lately. I thought of you this weekend when Flo & Mach and The CWs both played here for Beale St Fest...
